Effective April 27, 2026
Piruetas stores: your username, your password as a one-way hash (never plaintext), your journal entries (text and dates), any images you upload, and recovery codes stored as one-way hashes only.
Your data is used solely to provide the journal service. It is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than making Piruetas work for you.
Only you, authenticated via your credentials. The server operator has theoretical access to the database files, but there is no admin UI for browsing entries — this is a trust-based model typical of self-hosted software. Your password and recovery codes are hashed and cannot be read even by the operator.
Piruetas links to Ko-fi as an external support page. No data is shared with Ko-fi or any other third party. There are no analytics scripts, no ad networks, and no tracking of any kind.
Your data is stored for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes all your entries, images, and personal data immediately and permanently.
You can export all your data at any time from your account settings. You can delete your account and all associated data from account settings as well.
Passwords and recovery codes are stored as one-way cryptographic hashes. Sessions use signed cookies that cannot be forged without the server's secret key.
